Susan Jankelson, MSPT
Physical Therapist / Owner
Susan graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon in May 2000. She had a strong desire to work in outpatient orthopedics through her graduate studies and continued her quest after she graduated. Susan's focus is the outpatient orthopedic patient with an emphasis on manual therapy treatment techniques. She tries to seek out the best and most effective manual techniques to help her patients achieve maximum results from their physical therapy experience.
Susan has lived in the South Hill area since moving here in 1995. She has two beautiful, active daughters, and enjoys spending her free time with her family, helping at the girls' school, playing with her dogs and cats, and watching the Green Bay Packers.
Kim Bisson, MPT
Physical Therapist/ Owner
Kim graduated from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND in 1998 with a master’s degree in Physical Therapy. She has a strong background in exercise prescription as a graduate from Western Washington University in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science.
Kim has spent her entire PT career in the outpatient orthopedic environment and enjoys working with all age groups with their varying orthopedic complaints. She especially enjoys educating her patients with tools to improve their performance, decrease their pain and improve over-all function.
She is married with three daughters and enjoys spending time with her family doing anything outdoors as well as reading, watching movies, attending local theatre and visiting extended family and friends.
Kara Schimke, DPT
Kara graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA in 2017 with a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and has clinical experience in the inpatient rehab, pediatric, and outpatient orthopedic settings. As a PT she utilizes a combination of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise, tailored to each individual patient, to obtain maximum benefits. She is excited to take continuing education courses to expand her knowledge in different Physical Therapy topics. Kara grew up in Northern California and moved to Tacoma in 2014 to pursue a career in physical therapy! In her free time she enjoys hiking, running, traveling, playing soccer, and visiting family and friends in California.
Katrina Blake, PTA
Katrina earned her AAS/PTA from Green River College in 2016 and her AA from Highline Community College in 2011. As a therapist Katrina is dedicated to improving independence and quality of life for each individual. She plans on continuously increasing her educational skills to ensure she can provide the best possible care. Katrina has lived in WA since 2002 and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest, especially the overcast skies. Some of her passions include drawing with various medias and collecting sand from around the world.
Ashley Atchley, PTA
Ashley is a enthusiastic Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant who graduated from Green River Community College in 2009. She enjoys working with a wide variety of patients in the outpatient setting which she has been working in since graduating. On her own time she loves playing with her toddler, engaging in outdoor endurance/adrenaline sports and painting.
Tricia Heath, PTA
Tricia graduated from Green River college in June 2017 and received her PTA license in July. She practiced as an aquatic PTA for 3 months at a clinic in Covington, WA. She is married, has one 13-year-old daughter and a dog named Max. She enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, paddle boarding/kayaking, disc golfing, traveling, being active and playing games with her family and friends.
Tammy graduated from Pierce College, August 2015 earning her associate's degree in Medical office Assistant along with an associate's degree in Billing/Coding. Tammy comes with a strong background working with the public and a strong desire to help others. If there is help needed, Tammy is right there to help. She is married to her best friend, has one son, three stepdaughters and one grandson! She loves her family very much and enjoys spending quality time together. She has lived here in the Sunrise area for seven years and really enjoys the surroundings. Tammy is an energetic, outgoing person whom always tries to help make others smile. She enjoys road trips with her family and thrives on planning family-oriented gatherings.
Front Office Coordinator
Kathy is originally from Southern California but made the move up here to the great NW! She enjoys spending time with her family and recently added another member to her family, her little dog Baxter! She can be found taking long strolls on the beach, enjoying a good glass of wine, or watching her favorite shows: "Chicago Fire" and "This Is Us". Kathy is by far the coolest member of RFPT and will be the first smiling face you find when you come to the clinic!
Shannon graduated from Washington State University in 2017 with a B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy. She grew up in South Hill and loves living in the Pacific NW! When she isn't at work, Shannon likes to workout, whether that be weight lifting or hiking the many trails in the area. She also enjoys spending time with her family and her cats. Shannon will be leaving in May to pursue her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Indiana State University!
Mitchell is a senior at Emerald Ridge High School with plans of attending college to earn a degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Pre- Physical Therapy. He hopes to be a Physical Therapist, because he want to help others in pain or struggling to live their lives, and he believes the best way to achieve this goal is by being a Physical Therapist. Outside of his time at school or work, Mitchell enjoys time with family, staying physically active, and wrestling.
Alwin is a sophomore at the University of Washington and plans to earn his B.S. in Biology with a concentration in physiology. He aspires to be a physical therapist because of his desire to work with people and be a part of their "comeback" story. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, playing and watching basketball, and worshiping Jesus through songs on his guitar. He thinks that it's about time Seattle gets its basketball team back, but for now is a Lakers and Spurs fan.
