About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at Rainier Family Physical Therapy in Puyallup, Washington. The PTA will work alongside our Physical Therapists to provide individualized patient care, implement established treatment plans, guide patients through therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation activities, and assist with personalized home exercise programs. Responsibilities include monitoring patient progress, documenting treatment sessions, educating patients on their rehabilitation programs, and communicating with the clinical team to support patient goals. The ideal candidate is compassionate, team-oriented, and passionate about hands-on care and helping patients achieve lasting results.
Requirements
Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in Washington State or eligible to obtain Washington State licensure.
Knowledge of physical therapy principles, rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic exercises, and patient care.
Ability to implement treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist and assist in monitoring patient progress within the PTA scope of practice.
Experience or demonstrated ability to guide patients through therapeutic exercises and established rehabilitation programs.
Passion for hands-on patient care and helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Interest in manual therapy and willingness to learn about specialized treatment approaches within the PTA scope of practice.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with patients, Physical Therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Comfortable using an electronic medical record (EMR) system or willing to learn.
Commitment to patient education, professional development, and providing compassionate, individualized care.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Previous experience working with patients is preferred.
